Sub-sea tunnel almost completed

In 2021 it will take only 12 minutes to drive from Runavík to Tórshavn through the new subsea tunnel. Altogether, the sub-sea tunnel measures 11.24 kilometres (6.8 miles) long, including an underwater roundabout.

The Port of Runavík has proven to be an excellent destination for both small and large ships. Together with the new extended quayside, the tunnel will provide new opportunities not only for the Port of Runavík but for the whole area. It will open for traffic in early 2021
