A good cruise season
On October 18th, the Port of Runavík welcomed this year’s last cruise ship. The cruise season began in early May, and every call has gone smoothly. We’re grateful to everyone who contributes in making each call a success - from the dedicated teams on land to the cruise lines and their wonderful guests.
We will continue to develop all aspects of our cruise operations, ensuring that the growing number of ships benefits the local community in the best possible way. We believe that each of our destinations offers something special, giving visitors memorable experiences and a genuine taste of local life.
It’s always a joy to welcome cruise ships to our main port, King’s Harbour, whether large or small. The local community embraces the visits warmly, and it’s wonderful to see the energy and life that follows when cruise guests come ashore.
Our smaller and more remote villages are also becoming popular among expedition cruises. These visits are kept limited to ensure quality and social sustainability, and we are planning to gradually develop more expedition cruise destinations in Runavík Municipality for future seasons.
We’re thankful for another great season and for everyone who made it possible. To all cruise lines, crews, guests, and local teams - thank you for being part of it. We look forward to welcoming you again next year.
