Cruise

Port of Runavík is home to four cruise destinations on the island of Eysturoy, in the heart of the Faroe Islands. Whether you dock at King’s Harbour or visit our charming expedition villages, we do our utmost to make your visit special and welcoming.
Located along the stunning Skálafjørður, the Port of Runavík combines centuries of maritime tradition with modern facilities and friendly service. Our main port, King’s Harbour, is accessible year-round and accommodates ships of all sizes. For a more exclusive experience, our smaller expedition destinations welcome just a few ships each year—offering guests a peaceful, authentic taste of Faroese culture and nature.
Our main port - King's Harbour
Our main port, King’s Harbour in Runavík, is located in the heart of the Faroe Islands. This natural harbour, historically used by Vikings and Danish kings, is renowned for its safety and scenic beauty.
King’s Harbour welcomes cruise ships at quays 2, 3, and 4, with a total length of 567m and depths ranging from 5 to 12 meters. Visitors can enjoy excellent reception facilities, including tourist information, Ask Me-staff, and a Welcoming Event. Learn more about King's Harbour here.
Our Expedition Cruise Destinations
Our expedition cruise concept offers a safe, sustainable, and intimate experience in three remote villages: Elduvík, Funningur, and Oyndarfjørður. The ships anchor outside the villages and the guests are brought ashore by tender boats. To preserve the peaceful atmosphere, only three ships are accepted per year.
Elduvík is a secluded village with just 12 residents, offering a rare glimpse into traditional Faroese life. Learn more about Elduvík here.
Funningur, home to about 49 residents provides a scenic and culturally rich stop. Learn more about Funningur here.
Oyndarfjørður, our newest destination, will begin welcoming cruise guests in 2026. With 133 residents, the destination offers a warm, small-village experience. Learn more about Oyndarfjørður here.
