A record-breaking visit to Oyndarfjørður
On Thursday, the cruise ship Silver Wind visited Oyndarfjørður, marking the largest cruise ship ever to call at one of our expedition villages.
For a small village of just over 100 residents, welcoming a ship carrying nearly twice as many guests as there are people living in the village was an exciting task.
As this was only the second cruise visit to Oyndarfjørður, the day came with both great excitement and a few nerves. But the local community did an amazing job welcoming the guests, showing them around the village and giving them a taste of Faroese culture, hospitality and daily village life.
The smooth operation was also thanks to the ship and crew, who were exceptionally well prepared and professional from arrival to departure.
We wish Silver Wind and everyone on board a pleasant onward journey!
