6.000 people at King’s Harbour in just two days

July 22, 2026

Over the past two days, Renaissance and Rotterdam have called King’s Harbour, bringing around 6.000 guests and crew members to Runavík.

Yesterday, Renaissance arrived with mainly French guests, while Rotterdam brought mostly American guests.

During their stay, the guests explored the town, enjoyed the surrounding nature, visited the shopping street and joined the local welcoming event with Faroese musicians and traditional chain dancing. Many also took part in excursions around the local area.

What pleased us most was seeing the wonderful interaction between the local community and the cruise guests. Our main focus is always to give visitors a warm welcome and a small taste of everyday life in the Faroe Islands. Over these two days, the town has been full of life, friendly encounters and memorable moments.

Thank you Renaissance and Rotterdam. We look forward to welcoming Rotterdam again on August 26th this year and Renaissance on July 15th next year.

Tor Shipping is the local agent for both ships in the Faroe Islands and MB Tours is their Tour Operator.
