Le Champlain in Runavík and Elduvík
Maiden call to the Port of Runavík on 8 and 9 August 2024. Le Champlain called Elduvík and King's Harbour, our main port.
We had the pleasure of welcoming the lovely guests and crew from PONANT's Le Champlain on the ship's first call to the Port of Runavík. On Friday the cruise guests went on organized coach tours, explored the nice town of Runavík and the great lake Toftavatn. On Saturday they enjoyed Elduvík and all the special local experiences in the village and surroundings.
During the call in Runavík the captain and his crew welcomed representatives from the destination together with the ship's agent Faroe Ship for the plaque exchange ceremony onboard Le Champlain.
That same evening the ship sailed to Elduvík, our beautiful expedition cruise destination. The weather was fantastic when the 180 guests came ashore in zodiacs early Saturday morning. The day was almost magical for everyone—guests, crew, and locals alike.
After the visit the captain invited the whole local cruise team onboard Le Champlain. This was an incredible experience for the locals and everyone in the team. Thank you for the hospitality and warm welcome onboard.
We wish all guests and crew a safe journey - we look forward to welcome you again soon.
