Maiden Call in Funningur NG Endurance
National Geographic Endurance calls the village Funningur on Tuesday 2 July . The ship will anchor and the passengers will come ashore in zodiac boats.
During the past few years the Port of Runavík has, together with Visit Runavík, developed a social sustainable product for smaller expedition ships in cooperation with local inhabitants. There are about 49 people living in Funningur, and they are looking forward to welcome the cruise guests.
The maximum number of allowed calls is three ships per year and this is the third and last call to Funningur in 2024.
The local inhabitants of Funningur have planned the visit together with the Port of Runavík and Visit Runavík. NG Endurance is 124 m long and there are approximately 84 people onboard. The ship's owner is Lindblad Expeditions and its agent in the Faroe Islands is Tor Shipping.
