Foreign ships protect themselves against COVID-19
According to Brandur Højgaard, Harbor Master at the Port of Runavík, the foreign shipping companies have given notice to their captains, that no crew is allowed ashore and no one ashore is allowed onboard the ships due to the present situation. This is done in order to protect the crew against the COVID-19 virus.
The only people who are allowed to board the ships are the pilots, as they are required by law – and they have been told to wear a mask while on the ship.
